An incorrectly displayed evacuation message on the website of the Connecticut government, almost lead to the evacuation of the town Tolland, after a nearby camping resort was closed down. The miscommunication happened when the Del-Aire Camping Resort was issued a mandatory evacuation and the message was extended to the nearby town of Tolland by mistake. The evacuation of the camping resort was ordered because of it being in the direct path of the advancing hurricane Irene. Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director John Littell clarified the mistake and said that while Tolland is not at any immediate risk, the people have to be ready in case of a disaster as the hurricane might change course. He also added that the Del-Aire Camping Resort on Shenipsit Lake Road, which was issued the mandatory evacuation, has closed down.

Amusement parks in USA's East Coast are reopening post Hurricane Irene. One can say that there was no serious damage done to the parks. They were prepared and hence did not suffer much. These parks are cleaning up and reopening.
Six Flags Great Adventure was one of the parks that did not open. This park- situated in New Jersey- was hit harder than the rest but stated that all their coasters were secure. Also, Morey's Piers in Wildwood did not reopen but will, soon.
Dorney Park closed early for storm preparations, whereas nearby parks Knoebels and Hershey Park continued to be open as normal throughout the time the hurricane hit; but the rides were shut down. Things did not go bad for the parks because they were prepared and now, all of them can reopen soon.

Camping is so much fun. People have gone on for camps in their childhood and camping with the family is a lot of fun. But camping is not everyone's cup of tea. It takes a lot of preparation and if you are a first timer, then you need to keep some pointers in your head.
Go camping with a group of people and not alone; take your friends and family with you. Do not take your electronic items. Also, when you go camping, you will need a tent which you may buy. But if you are going for the first time, you will need camping equipment and a large tent so try and hire them.
Importantly, be realistic about camping; people who are not used to camping will not be able to adjust to it fast. So take a weekend break rather than a two week holiday. Also, look into alternatives; if you do not want a tent when you go camping then try and opt for a campervan which you can hire easily.
